Elizabeth McIntosh

Elizabeth Adella McIntosh, age 95, of Sac City, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at Park View Care Center in Sac City.

Elizabeth was born February 28, 1908, in Schaller, Iowa, the daughter of George T. and Lucy Mae (Collins) Watson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Schaller.

Elizabeth attended rural school through the 8th grade, graduated from Schaller High School in 1925, and Buena Vista College with a B.S. Degree in 1929. She taught school until her marriage to Charles Lewis McIntosh on May 27, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed northeast of Sac City for forty years until retiring and moving into Sac City in 1980.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City, Gamma Delta Chi, C.U. Club, and Douglas Township neighborhood club for over forty years.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Beverly J. Reaney of Mason City, Iowa; three grandchildren: Tamara Buffington and her husband Gerry and Deborah Asbe and her husband Michael all of Mason City, Iowa; and William Lange and his wife Shelly of Springfield, Missouri; two great grandchildren: Ian Buffington and Sarah Lange; two sisters-in-law: Dolly Watson of Schaller and Genevieve Watson of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, in 1985; two brothers: John and George Watson; sister Marjorie Watson and a sister-in-law Gladys Summers.

Funeral service for Elizabeth McIntosh was Monday, December 8, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Reverend B. J. Ukena officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Sac City.
