Dorothy M. Killeen
Visitation is after 4:00 on Wednesday with the family present after 7:00 at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. There will be a vigil service at 8:15 at the funeral home. Dorothy M. (Snyder) Killeen, age 84, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at Loring Hospital, Sac City. Dorothy was born on February 3, 1919, in Mt. Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Rettenmaier) Snyder. She attended the Mt. Carmel Catholic School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City and belonged to St. Mary’s Guild. On November 29, 1939, Dorothy was united in marriage to Eldore “Slim” Killeen at Mt. Carmel. They were blessed with two sons: Patrick and Richard. Dorothy was a homemaker. Her many interests included: crocheting, playing cards, gardening, playing bingo, cooking and having family get togethers. Dorothy is survived by her two sons: Patrick Killeen, Sr. of Breda, IA, and Richard Killeen and his wife Linda of Sac City, IA; her grandchildren: Deborah and Roger Rowles of Grand Junction, IA, Dawn Bossert of Dillon, CO, Lisa Killeen, and Kim and Tom Hemmingsen, all of Newell, IA, Paula Morman of Breda, IA, and Patrick Killeen, Jr. of Arion, IA; two step-grandsons: Dennis and Leah Pepper of Middlesex, NC, and Douglas Pepper of Texas; 12 great grandchildren; and 4 step-great grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers: John Snyder and his wife Pat of Fort Dodge, IA, and Paul Snyder and his wife Annabelle of Carroll, IA; two sisters: Mildred-Mrs. Clarence Klocke of Carroll, and Kathy Snyder of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters-in-law: Donna Snyder and Doris Salisbury both of Carroll; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldore in 1992; four infant siblings: Agnes, Marie, Rose and William; three sisters: Alma Snyder, Adeline Tschida and Norma Ertz; and two brothers: Herbert and Alfred Snyder. |
